Nationally recognized course offers strategy for responding to concerns
March 21, 2011
Knowing how to provide support and how to secure assistance for mental health issues of concern is the reason a nationally recognized mental health first aid course was designed and made available for the general public. “Mental Health First Aiders” learn a single approach to assessing a situation and responding to signs of mental health concerns, such as helping a person through a panic attack, or talking with someone who is anxious or depressed. The two-day course is useful for everyday events, and especially helpful to people working with the public. The sessions will be taught by nationally certified trainers Beth Friedman-Darner and Kathleen Talluto on April 19th-20th. Cost for the training is $30; registration is required no later than April 5th. For more information, or to register for Mental Health First Aid, contact KMHS at 360-415-5801 or e-mail
