Journey to Hope

“…I learned that hope is far more than just a word – it’s a life‑changing experience.”

Who We Are

  • Outpatient and intensive wraparound services for children, youth, families and adults
  • Crisis Triage Center and Mobile Crisis Outreach
  • Residential units for adult mental health and co-occurring substance use treatment
  • Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to treat severe depression
  • Inpatient units for adults and youth
  • School-based services and a self-contained school
  • Supportive housing services, including 72-unit Pendleton Place
  • Jail-based services and other supports for people involved in the justice system
New Lobby, Same Compassionate Care

We transformed the main client lobby at our Almira Campus, adding floor-to-ceiling windows, gender-neutral bathrooms, new furniture, an accessible reception desk and an energy-efficient vestibule. Construction began in June and we welcomed clients into the trauma-informed space in October 2025.

We Speak Your Language

We have certified interpreters on staff to support our Spanish-speaking community in receiving services, including individual, family and group therapy. We can also provide care in almost any language through contracted interpreter services.

Stronger Together

To support employee wellness, KMHS partnered with the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties in 2025 to offer a new benefit – free memberships for employees and eligible family members. In December 2025, 382 employees were active Y members, including Pendleton Place staff pictured here.

Mental Health First Aid

A community-wide support system is crucial to mental health recovery. That’s why we offer free monthly classes in Mental Health First Aid. In 2025, we trained 98 people to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. The result is a healthier, safer and more compassionate community.

Go to kmhs.org/mhfa to learn more, sign up for a scheduled training or request a training at your location. Classes are open to adults, ages 18 and older.
