Benefits That Matter
Caring for Our Employees
We take our commitment to employees as seriously as we take our commitment to the community. We offer a robust benefits package that includes substantial personal leave days – including 10 paid holidays and two paid mental wellness days – and generous health coverage. We support employee wellness with a free YMCA membership for staff members and their families. We also contribute to your retirement, help repay your student loans, and support your continuing education.
And you couldn’t ask for a more beautiful place to live. Kitsap County offers vast green space, more than 250 miles of shoreline and a variety of recreational opportunities in a suburban/rural location that’s just an hour by ferry from Seattle sports, dining and cultural attractions.
Here’s a snapshot of our benefits, which are available to regular full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week, pro-rated accordingly. Spouses and children are also eligible for coverage.

It’s Never Too Early to Start Saving for Retirement
• Retirement Plan (Tax Sheltered Annuity)
Once eligible, KMHS employees are enrolled in our 403 (b) retirement plan and become fully vested after 5 years. KMHS contributes 4% over and above your annual wage earnings. You may also contribute to the retirement plan. The retirement plan agent is available to meet with you to discuss your personal goals and options.
