Gain experience, impact lives.

Child & Family Therapist Internship

Receive supervision and support as you grow your skills as a clinician. In our clinical team environment you’ll experience working with children, youth and families experiencing serious emotional distress and life challenges. Our highly skilled clinicians provide therapy services for young children and adolescents in collaboration with the parents or guardians caring for them at home, schools and community, offer specialized wraparound, high intensity services (WISe); maintain several full day “school day treatment” programs on our campus and at several school locations, provide acclaimed Parent-Child Interactive Therapy, and are committed to an environment fostering resiliency and building on strengths.

Adult Outpatient Therapist Internship

Impact lives even while you accelerate your clinical skills! Under direct supervision of a licensed counselor or other clinician, you will learn how to effectively conduct intakes on new clients, develop client treatment/service plans, coordinate services provided to the client, and track/record and report on client progress. Hone your experience while providing counseling services within a team based care environment, offering individual and group treatment, and facilitating educational classes for persons with a range of serious mental illnesses.

Inpatient 24 Hour Services Internship

Looking to build your expertise in high intensity crisis treatment service environments? Working under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals, deepen your expertise providing inpatient therapeutic psychosocial care. Our 24/7 services department settings range from 5 day crisis triage, to involuntary evaluation and treatment units for adults and for children and youth. Practicing in a crisis care setting, delivering trauma informed care, employing de-escalation techniques, and offering recovery based care are part of our daily work. Using electronic health records, completing intake interviews, improving your documentation skills, working in a team milieu that includes nurses, psychiatrists, ARNPs, certified peer counselors, case managers, and others core members, and developing cooperative relationships with family members, courts, and other community supports are just some of the experiences gained in our acute care settings. Internships are available to meet the needs of the student, with a wide variety of times, locations, and clinical oversight to meet all needs.
