Find Your Purpose – KMHS Internships
Kitsap Mental Health Services offers a limited number of internships open to master’s level students in clinical counseling or social work who are interested in working with a diverse population in an outpatient community mental health setting.
As an intern at Kitsap Mental Health Services, you will gain valuable training and experience in managing a caseload, developing and implementing treatment goals, assessment, and diagnosis, documentation and record-keeping, professional development, building your identity as a therapist, facilitating groups and more, under the supervision of one of our qualified counselors.
Eligibility Requirements
- Current graduate student in good standing
- Enrolled in a clinically-focused master’s or doctoral degree program in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, clinical social work, marriage & family therapy or equivalent

Eligibility Requirements
You must:
- Attend a Washington state college or university that has a current contract for nursing student interactions with Kitsap Mental Health Services, or
- Attend the University of Tennessee
Availability
- As of Fall 2025, only placements with a medical provider treating children/adolescents is available, and those opportunities are very limited.
- No remote (telehealth) experiences will be supported. This means that students need to be in-person for their interactions with the clients and medical providers. We are located in Bremerton, Washington.
