Mobile Crisis Outreach

Our 24/7 mobile crisis outreach teams go wherever they’re needed in the community. They help people get through the toughest times of their lives by connecting them with treatment and services.

Mobile Services

Mobile Crisis Outreach Team

This team helps adults get through the current crisis and be connected to services that can prevent future crises. Team members also follow up with stabilization services for up to two weeks.

Youth Mobile Crisis Outreach Team

Our youth crisis team works with young people and their families to de-escalate crisis situations. Steps include creating a safety plan, creating a treatment plan, providing resources and following up with stabilization services for up to two weeks.

Designated Crisis Responders (DCRs)

DCRs determine if a person’s mental health crisis is so severe that they are a danger to themselves or others. If so, they may need to be detained for treatment. DCRs are required to match people in crisis with the least restrictive services needed to support their stabilization and recovery.

Eligibility

Anyone within Kitsap County is eligible to receive crisis mental health services, regardless of age, income, insurance status or ability to pay.

How to Access Services

If you or someone you know is having suicidal thoughts or experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis, call the 24/7 Salish Regional Crisis Line at 888-910-0416 or text 988.

Trained mental health professionals will answer your call and determine the type of support you need. If appropriate, they’ll connect you with KMHS mobile crisis response.

What to Expect

Within 15 minutes of a crisis-line referral, a KMHS team member will call the person in crisis to determine next steps. They could include:

  • Meeting the person in the community
  • Connecting them to services at KMHS
  • Connecting them to services with our community partners
  • Referring them to our Crisis Triage Center for up to five days of voluntary 24/7 stabilization services
