Substance Use Recovery
Take Charge of Your Recovery
Mental illness and substance use often go hand-in-hand. That’s called co-occurring disorders, and we’re experts in treating them.
Every client has a unique set of strengths and challenges. Our clinicians look at the whole person, addressing medical, psychological and social factors. They work to stabilize clients’ mental illness, provide tools for addressing substance use, and show that recovery is possible.
At KMHS, you’re in charge of your own recovery. You can choose to work on one issue at a time or both. And you can choose to work with one clinician to get treatment for both mental health and substance use concerns. Or you can work with separate clinicians for each issue. Either way, we provide coordinated care because that leads to the best long-term results.
We also offer a structured 24/7 residential substance use treatment program designed for adults who need a higher level of care.
Medication-Assisted Treatment
Addiction is a chronic disease like asthma or diabetes. It can be managed but most people need help to overcome addiction.
Our outpatient Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program is proven to sustain recovery and prevent overdose through a combination of medication and therapy. The medication blocks drug and alcohol cravings while therapy addresses the root causes of addiction.
“Even though I have the battle often, I also have the coping skills and tools to not use.”
