Other: Emergency Shelter

A.L.I.V.E. (Alternatives to Living In a Violent Environment) Emergency Shelter Program YWCA Kitsap County operates the A.L.I.V.E. Emergency Shelter Program for survivors and their children fleeing an immediately dangerous situation due to domestic violence. Guests in the shelter have access to: 24/7 Advocacy Services, 24/7 Crisis Intervention, 24/7 Safety Planning, Case Management, Mental Health Services, Legal Advocacy Services, Housing Advocacy Services, Support Groups, Child Care, Resources and Referrals

Housing: Supportive Housing

HomeSafe Program: The YWCA HomeSafe Housing Program provides survivors of domestic violence with crisis intervention, safety planning, civil and criminal legal advocacy, weekly facilitated support group services, child care, 24-hour advocacy and case management, and support in accessing community resources as well as housing assistance for those who are not able to obtain affordable housing due to barriers related to their domestic violence experience. YWCA also works with community landlords and property owners to identify low-barrier housing resources for domestic violence survivors.

Legal: Legal Advocacy Services

YWCA Kitsap County offers Legal Advocacy Services to victims of domestic violence. These services include: Legal Advocacy Case Management Safety Planning Civil and Criminal Justice System Navigation Victims’ Rights Information Court Accompaniment Protection Orders Information Resources Referrals for Legal Consultation Danger Assessment Bilingual/Bicultural Advocacy Services A Spanish-speaking bilingual legal advocate is available to non-English/Spanish-speaking victims. Translation services are available for all languages.

Support Group

The Support Group Services Program offers confidential support groups that provide a safe environment to help break down the barriers of isolation and explore the topic of domestic violence. Curriculum-based facilitation provides each participant the opportunity to learn, heal, and manage the impact of their experiences. Each person has the opportunity to talk about needs, resources, and participates at a level they feel comfortable. Support groups offered include: Survivors of Domestic Violence, Spanish Speaking Survivors/Sobrevivientes de Habla Hispana, LGBTQIA+ Identified Survivors, Youth ages 13 – 17, Children ages 9 – 12, Survivors in Kitsap County Jail.

Education

YWCA is dedicated to eradicating domestic violence in Kitsap County by interrupting the cycle of generational violence. Learn about domestic violence and how it impacts survivors and the greater community by taking part in prevention programming, community training, or becoming certified in domestic violence core competency.

Crisis Services: 24 HR Crisis Hotline

YWCA has trained and certified Domestic Violence Advocates that are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist in accessing in emergency shelter, safety planning, legal advocacy services, support groups, and outside referrals.
